Analysis: NC Senate candidates similar on issues
10/28/08 | The Associated Press State & Local Wire | Before establishing point-by-point policy proposals, Hagan appeared to hold some positions opposite of Dole such as on illegal immigration and offshore drilling only to shift her views later in the race…When Hagan entered the race, she sharply criticized Dole's handling of illegal immigration. Dole had voted against an immigration measure that allowed illegals a path to citizenship a provision Hagan also vehemently opposes and the lawmaker returned to North Carolina to broker a federal-state partnership providing she-riffs the tools to identify and begin deportation proceedings for illegals in their jails.” | Read the story

In Senate race, the issues take a back seat to Bush
10/28/08 | The News & Observer | There has been little talk of what Republican U.S. Sen. Todd: Hispanics could put Obama over the top
10/27/08 | NBC News | For weeks, Obama's been at 65 percent and McCain's hovered around 30 percent. If Obama nabs just 62 percent or better of Hispanics, he'll surpass the Gore total from 2000. And right now, he seems virtually assured of that. Anything 65 percent or above for Obama probably locks in the three western battlegrounds of Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico, narrowing McCain's path to 270 that much more. | Read the story
