Ivan Nikolov was brought to the United States from Russia when he was only eleven. His mother married a U.S. citizen, and his family has lived in Michigan for the last decade.

On the morning of May 5th, Ivan's home was raided by ICE. Ivan's mother was deported on Friday, August 6th, and Ivan is in immigration detention. Ivan is afraid of being sent back to Russia. He barely speaks the language and would be forced to join the Russian military -- even though he considers himself an American in every way!

If deported, Ivan faces a five-year ban from coming back to visit the U.S., not to mention his father and his fiancée.
